MOUNTAIN BIKING: Sully's Hill

← MN WILD RICE RIVER HENDRUM MN Single Tracks →

Description

This network has many miles of trails which pass through areas varying from open prairie to thick forest all set upon a very hilly terrain. Some of the network is well groomed and marked as it is used by snowmobilers in the winter while some areas require a free hand to push branches out of your face. There are many hills which provide opportunity for long and fast descents and slow and painful climbs. Almost all of the trails are singletrack and composed of hard packed dirt and gravel. There are some areas marked "NO TRESSPASSING" so be careful. The entire trail network is located on the Devils Lake Sioux Indian Reservation...please, respect the land and its people.

Directions

From Devils Lake travel south on Hwy. 20 until it runs into Hwy. 57. The transition from Hwy. 20 to 57 occurs at a "T" in the road which is surrounded by water on all sides. Travel along Hwy. 57 until you see an old ski jump on your left (lake is on your right). If you see Sully's Hill National Game Reserve or Fort Totten you have gone to far. From the ski jump, trail heads are located on either side of the hill base. Just head for the trees and you will find them. You can also find trail heads located at any one of many radio towers which can be seen on surrounding hills. Find an access road to one of the towers and you will find one or more trails.
